Nisus Gallery is pleased to present The Worlds Are Glorious by Tamara English. These new oil paintings continue English’s kinetic expression of her multilayered “vocabularies” that conjure strong parallels of our real and energetic worlds. Each is grounded in familiar horticultural landscapes and naturalistic light. Then we encounter the imagery that references the spiritual and religious traditions of different cultures that are intended to inspire awareness of one’s inner life. Inherent in the paintings are suggestions of multiple views with which to read the work, allowing symbolic, archetypical and ultimately anagogical awareness. Finally, we are drawn deeper into each work in a contemplative communion with the unseen to seek our relationship with our individual understanding of the eternal.
