Nisus Gallery is pleased to present “A Simpler Time” featuring Kelly Goode, Leah Verwey, and Sid Owen. As we prepare to elect a new congress we inevitably are inundated by talking heads telling us about a simpler time, way back when things were black and white, when the choices are easy. This black and white photography exhibit asks the question of what is a simpler time?
“A Simpler Time” will be on exhibit at Nisus Gallery, 328 NW Broadway #117 (at Flanders), from October 7 through October 23, 2010. The opening reception is on First Thursday, October 7th from 6-9pm. Nisus Gallery is open Saturday’s 11-4 pm and by appointment.
About the Artists:
Kelly Goode is a mixed media artist, wedding photographer, a dog mom, and a new wife. She gets inspired by the odd candid moments in day-to-day life, vintage cameras, movement, and strange/beautiful light.
Leah Verwey is a design enthusiast and photographer based in Portland, OR. Her roots are in still photography, with a degree in Cinema and Photography from Ithaca College. She primarily likes to photograph clean lines, minute details and quiet moments, though she also loves to invade homes, offices, and workshops as she documents these creative areas for her blog Space. She can also be found photographing inspiring weddings and delicious food in the Northwest.
Sid Owen is a Portland, Oregon based photographer. He generally focuses on candid pictures of people, especially the frame just before our faces look awkward.
