About the Artists

Vanessa Calvert is a mixed-media artist living and working in Portland, OR.  She is interested in exploring the experiential elements of space as well as the ways in which design informs and is informed by society.  She received her MFA in Contemporary Art Practice from Portland State University in 2009 and has shown in Oregon and Washington at spaces including Worksound, Disjecta, Igloo, Autzen Gallery, and Broderick Gallery.

Erinn Hatter began on the East Coast as a renderer-of-life through relief, etching and lithography.  Over time and travel her work has grown into a practice of process and exploration, inspired by scapes, nature, and people and she had learned fun things to do without spending much.  Today she works primarily in mixed media painting, using printmaking as a means of ‘study’ in abstracting landscapes and other scenes to inform future paintings.  Erinn currently resides in Portland, OR.

Jamey Herman: His experiences as a house painter and starting up a business have informed his art practice, manifesting sculptural works that question the value of labor and the veil of suburban normalcy hughesairco.com. With a grip on the Keseyian roots of the Pacific Northwest, Jamey has begun cataloguing the icons of idealized picture perfect America subverting them to create a sense of unease and impossibility.

Michael Robert Rutledge received his bachelor of fine arts from the University of Oregon in printmaking in 2009. He is a founding member of team! collective, and a studio resident at Disjecta. Both a photographer and a printmaker, Michael chooses to combine methods and mediums in order to explore translative boundaries and challenge visual acuity.
